SUICIDE BOMB IN KALIMALANG INDONESIA NEWS: Man with bomb allegedly targets a traffic policeman. New terrorist's action in Jakarta (Indonesia).A man carrying a bomb that exploded in Kalimalang Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, allegedly targeted a traffic policeman who was in duty near the explosion site.
The explosion took place on Thursday morning at a bus stop in Jl. Raya Kalimalang, near Sumber Arta market, few meters to the border with Bekasi, West Java.
A police officer said at location that the man was walking carrying a bicycle, not riding it, and heading to the West.
Suddenly, when the man was right behind a police officer, a bag put on the bicycle went off, the officer said.
Sources in the police confirmed the policeman was Adj. Comr. Heri, the head of traffic law enforcement unit at the Bekasi Police.
Heri was reportedly uninjured while the man was severely wounded.
The bicycle as well as the bag were confiscated by the police.
Witnesses said the police also seized hundreds of small nails and a rice pan, mineral water bottles.
At the location there was white powder spreading on the ground with several small nails.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said the man, aged around 30s, was injured in the face and the neck. "His right hand and right leg are also broken," he said.
The injured man was rushed to the Kramat Jati Hospital to get medical help. thejakartapost.com
